Apple iMac (2012) to Be Released Soon

Apple is releasing another update to its popular iMac series and has planned to release the newer slicker version very soon. The new iMac will sport a thinner waistline along with improved specs. Just a glance on the new iMac will not be enough to distinguish the changes in the newer model though.

Starting from the back you can see that Apple has taken a leaf from its older models and hidden all the connections and circuitry to make the backside more bulging. But this tapers down to corners of the screen to take the thickness to just 5mm. This is probably because Apple has decided to remove the optical drive though it is still available if you absolutely want one.

The screen has also seen an upgrade. The IPS panel is 5mm thinner too and the crisp screen comes in two models, either a 27 inch (with a resolution of 2560 * 1440 pixels) one or a 21.5 inch (with a resolution of 1920 * 1080 pixels) model. The screen is indeed excellent and we would suggest buying the 27 inch model not just for the screen size. Since Apple has sealed away the backside, the 21.5 inch model doesn’t allow you to upgrade anything and even the 27 inch model only allows upgrading the memory.

Regarding performance, the new iMac will come with various configurations. The 21.5 inch model starts at a 2.7 GHz quad core i5 processor while the 27 inch model starts with a 2.9 GHz quad core i5 processor. Both versions come with 8GB of RAM and 1TB harddisk. The 21.5 inch version comes with Nvidia GT 640 M and the 27 inch is fitted with an Nvidia GTX 660M. For Latest Technology News please visit iTecholic
